I'm finding myself disturbed by certain things in the episode Miri. The dialog can be seen as entirely innocent.. but the editing/camera work makes it seem very... off.
What I do find funny and not really disturbing (besides the need for Kirk's PA on the away team), is the fact that Security Guard #2 (SG2) keeps pointing his phaser at Spock.
As I cap the other episodes the character/actor are in, I'll keep an eye out to see if this behavior continues.
Someone needs to write a short story about SG2's secret resentment. Maybe he has a crush on Chapel/Kirk/McCoy and hates that said crush prefers Spock. I'd also like a fic dealing with what happens with Miri and Jahn after the Enterprise leaves. And did they ever get the truant officers?
Side note, SG2 was played by John Arndt, who only gets SG2 as a name in this episode, but ends up being named as Crewman Fields. Now, according to Memory Alpha, he's the same guy in all the episodes he's played in, save The Man Trap, where he played Crewman Sturgeon (casualty).
Yes, I did look that up. I'm that lame.
You know what else I find funny? Kirk always talk to others about a person, while the person is well within hearing range, as if they can't hear him. It makes me laugh every time. The not funny: I did find those kids freaking creepy.
Anybody have any other thoughts on this episode?
