If you have any questions and/or comments, please feel free to comment with them. You, of course, need to have a hosting package with 1&1 to make use of this tutorial.

After you've signed into your 1&1 account, and it's taken you to the Administration tab, click on the FTP Access link on the left hand side.

When you get to the FTP Account page, click on the new user button at the top of the account table.

On the Create FTP Account page, create a ftp username by adding either letters or numbers.
Remember both your user name and password as you'll need them for your FTP client to have access to the account.
Also, remember the foldername for when you choose a destination for your domain. You have to use the same folder so that the files you upload actually show on your chosen domain.

Click on the Domains link on the left side of the page.
Find the domain you want to work with in the Domain Overview table. Check the ticky box on its left.
At the top of the Domain Overview table, click on the Destination button, and then choose Edit Destination from the drop-down menu.

Once you're on the Domain Destination page, make sure you use the same directory folder for the domain destination as you did for the FTP Account destination.
